In the event of an accident involving a rental vehicle, you should first remain calm and check for any injuries. If the accident does not pose a risk to human health, certain steps can be taken depending on the nature of the accident.
If another vehicle is involved in the accident, you must obtain copies of the other driver’s driver’s license and vehicle registration, as well as a copy of the vehicle’s traffic insurance policy. In addition, an accident report must be prepared. During this process, photographs of the damaged areas of the vehicles should be taken.
In the event of an accident involving a rental car, you should call the traffic police without moving the vehicle from its position. Afterwards, an official accident report must be issued and an alcohol test report must be obtained. If the accident occurs near a police or gendarmerie station, you should go to the station to have a witness report prepared, or alternatively, request law enforcement officers to come to the scene.

Can I get a refund if I drop off the vehicle before the specified time?
If you return the rental car before the specified time, it is not possible to get a refund.
Can I pay at the office?
If you make your reservation through our call center at (0412) 220 00 02 or via our offices, you may pay at the office. For reservations made through our website, the option to pay at the office is not available. During peak periods, reservations with office payment may not be accepted. Making an early reservation will provide more advantageous conditions.

Cancellations notified up to 24 hours before the rental start date and time are eligible for a free refund.

For cancellations notified between 24 hours and 1 hour before the rental start date and time, one day’s rental fee will be charged and the remaining amount will be refunded.

If the cancellation is made less than 1 hour before the rental start time, two days’ rental fee will be charged and the remaining amount will be refunded.

No refund will be issued if the vehicle is not picked up without prior notice.
What can I do if the vehicle delivered to me is a different brand than the one I rented?
Reservations are made based on vehicle groups, not specific brands or models. While we display vehicles to customers who make reservations through our website, theleoncarrental.com, subject to fleet availability, we do not provide a brand guarantee. If we are unable to supply an available vehicle from the reserved group on the requested pick-up date, an available vehicle from the next higher group will be provided at no additional charge, provided that the customer meets the age and driving license requirements for that vehicle group.
Can I return my vehicle later than the specified return date/time?
Guests who expect to experience a delay in returning the vehicle are kindly requested to inform the office specified as the return location at the time of rental. Depending on the duration of the delay, a late return fee may be charged. If the delay exceeds 1 hour, a one-day rental fee will be applied. For detailed information on procedures applied in case of late return, please review our rental agreement.
Will a replacement vehicle be provided if the rented car breaks down?
In the event of a vehicle breakdown, guests are required to contact our authorized representatives via our hotline at (0412) 220 00 02 to report the issue and request assistance. A replacement vehicle will be provided for the broken-down vehicle.
Do your vehicles have winter tires?
Our vehicles are not equipped with winter tires as standard. If winter-tire-equipped vehicles are available in the requested date range and vehicle group, a vehicle with winter tires may be provided upon request. Winter tire provision is a paid service.

How to Purchase Mini Damage Insurance:
You may add Mini Damage Insurance to your reservation by selecting it from the “Extra Services” section after choosing your vehicle on the reservation page. Guests who have already completed their reservation must contact our call center at (0412) 220 00 02 or visit our offices in order to benefit from Mini Damage Insurance.
⚠️ Please note: Mini Damage Insurance does not cover damages to tires, windows, and headlights.
What is your policy if I exceed the daily mileage limit?
For guests who exceed the daily mileage limit, an additional excess mileage fee may be charged on top of the daily rental rate. The distance traveled by the vehicle is determined by reading the odometer installed by the manufacturer. In the event that the odometer is damaged or malfunctioning, the mileage fee will be calculated based on the distance of the trip as indicated on map data.
Can I travel abroad with the rented vehicle?
It is not permitted to travel abroad with the rented vehicle.
